10 O’Clock Chemical (10occ) are an electro/pop foursome with a bass and funk emulsion originating from Stoke on Trent and Derbyshire. Formed in 2016 and led by Rhys Oakes, amidst their political and slightly dystopian views, warming synths and a taste for theatrics,10occ have established themselves as an intensely energetic and freakish outfit, who describe their sound as “grit pop”.
In December 2016 10occ were discovered by and joined the artist roster at management company Mother City (Youngr, Gang of Four, Hotei etc) in London. In April 2017 they were crowned “Best New Band” at the inaugural Staffordshire and Cheshire Music Awards, which was voted for by the public and attended by 600 of their peers; they also gained strong support from BBC Introducing in Stoke, the widely respected new music programme.
During 2017 10occ have been working in the studio to refine their sound with Matt Johnson, best known for his work with Jamiroquai, and Adrian Bushby, best known for his work with Muse and Foo Fighters. They have also been developing their live show, with a few festival performances over the summer.
10 O’Clock Chemical’s first commercial single “Babylon Is Fallen” is available now to Stream and Download.
